Neil Diamond's Greatest Hits Live by Rob Garrett
ROB GARRETT’S “King of Diamonds” Neil Diamond tribute Las Vegas residency is still thrilling audiences in the “Alexis Park Modern Showrooms” at ALEXIS PARK HOTEL.
The legendary Neil Diamond is one of the best-selling and most iconic singer/songwriters in contemporary pop-rock music history.
More than just being one of the best-selling and most successful live artists ever, he’s also created and performed the songs of a generation — including some of the most famous songs on the planet.
In the beginning of 2018, shortly before his 77th year, Neil Diamond retired from touring after being diagnosed with Parkinson’s.
However, Diamond’s live performance legacy continues to be preserved for audiences worldwide through tribute artist Rob Garrett, often called “the best of the best”.
Ask Alexa “who is the top Neil Diamond tribute artist,” and you’ll hear the same name.
Like his legendary counterpart, Rob Garrett was a Brooklyn, New York native.
In May 1974, his parents relocated from New York City to the Las Vegas Valley, where, at age 16, he witnessed his first live Neil Diamond show when Diamond debuted in Las Vegas to record crowds at the Aladdin Hotel’s “Theater for the Performing Arts” in July 1976.
Garrett went on to see him another 16 times across the country—right up until Diamond’s last American show at the LA Forum on August 12, 2017.
In 1980, Garrett started his own band, “Rock n Roll Heaven,” and enjoyed a long and successful run in Las Vegas and across the nation before transitioning from lead singer of Rob Garrett Neil Diamond Tribute Show for groups a cover band to a full-time tribute performer dedicated to one of his childhood heroes.
In 1995, Garrett was selected by the legendary Paul Revere to portray Neil Diamond in the “Legends in Concert” show in Honolulu, Hawaii.
What was meant to be a three-month trial turned into a three-year residency.
By August 1998, Garrett returned home to Las Vegas and continued to perform with “Legends” for another couple of years before deciding to create his own tribute production.
He began a busy tour circuit, building a strong worldwide fan community along the way—earning the title “King of Diamonds Neil Diamond Tribute.”
He continues to perform to sold-out venues nationwide, often in venues that typically host major artists.
Garrett has also earned several honors, including “Male Tribute Artist of the Year.”
“Since he (Diamond) announced his retirement, I’ve felt a strong sense of responsibility to keep his legacy alive for future generations. It’s something I never get tired of doing,” he said.
On May 19, Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman officially proclaimed the date “Rob Garrett Day,” commemorating Rob’s 50 years as a Las Vegas resident and 44 years as a professional Vegas performer.
Now in the year 2025, Garrett celebrates 45 years on stage in Las Vegas, with the last 30 years devoted solely to paying tribute to the now-retired Neil Diamond.
It has been said that no other tribute artist is so closely identified with the original performer as Garrett, who has played in more Vegas rooms than any peer.
Since the June closing of “A Beautiful Noise” (the Broadway jukebox musical based on Diamond’s life story), Rob Garrett’s “King of Diamonds” show has become the only continuous Neil Diamond tribute in the U.S..
Alexis Park Resort Hotel is located at 375 E. Harmon Ave., near the Las Vegas Strip.
